In the mid-1960s Gordon & MacPhail took the unprecedented step of launching a range of single malts under the brand name ‘Connoisseurs Choice’. Until this time, many of the whiskies the range featured would not have been available as single malt. Today, 'Connoisseurs Choice' retains this exclusive nature with a range of rare and sought after single malts from distilleries throughout Scotland.
Nose: Subtle Sherry influences with apple, cinnamon, and hints of lemon are complemented by charred oak aromas. A undertone of treacle is present.
Palate: Sweet initially then peppery with green apple, orange peel, and chocolate flavours. A charred oak edge develops and combines with liquorice on the finish.
Nose: Delicate Sherry notes mingle with ginger, toasted malt, and candied citrus fruits.
Palate: Spicy with fruit cake, banana, and grapefruit flavours are complemented by dark chocolate and hints of fresh lime.
Finish: Medium in length; smooth and lingering spice and citrus notes.
Cask Type(s): First and refill American hogshead casks.
Whisky Style: Spicy and aromatic Highland dram.
